Compatible Numbers with a Buddy

Kia ora
We have been learning about how to use Compatible Numbers. Compatible Numbers are any two numbers which add together to make a Tidy Number (a  number which ends in zero).  We had to choose two Compatible Numbers and another number. Then we had to think of a word problem which used our numbers and give the problem to a buddy to solve. Mrs Ogle, our maths facilitator, said this is called 'posing problems'.

Bob, Bobby and Bobbet have Rugby collection cards. Bob has 16. Bobby has 21 and Bobbet has 14, how many do they have together. My friend Andrew did 16 + 14 = 30 30 + 21 = 51.

Ski Trip

My dad, a lot of other adults, all my class including my teachers and I, went on a bus for about 10 hours from Ohaeawai Primary School all the way to National Park. There we had an exciting adventure with  lots of skiing, rock climbing, exploring and learning about the Army museum and staying in Piper's Lodge. I had the  most exciting time ever with my friends, class mates and my dad. Down below you see a picture on an tank at the museum.
